The ONLY Clothes I’m Bringing to Disney…
Say it with me: athleisure, athleisure, athleisure.
Disney is hot. Even when you’re not traveling during those peak summer months, temps can get high, and regardless of when you go, you’ll definitely be spending some long, busy days in the parks. You are NOT going to want to be wearing stiff, uncomfortable clothing when you’re walking multiple miles a day in 80+ degree heat. Denim is not your friend.
If you happen to be traveling in the winter when temps can get low in the morning or at night, you can always layer with a long sleeve or a sweatshirt. I recommend, obviously, tracking the weather leading up to your trip though, so that if you do happen to be traveling when daytime temps will remain low (or even get cold) you can plan for that by adding leggings, sweatshirts and warmer pieces to your luggage.
I am ONLY bringing comfortable, cool, athletic clothes next time that can be mixed and matched together which also helps minimize how many things I need to pack (in theory).
Comfort should be your top priority, and these pieces are all also cute and trendy. They are all also things that are completely appropriate to wear to whatever meal reservations you might have while you’re in the park.
The only exception, in my opinion, is if you will be sitting down to a meal outside of the parks. If you have a reservation at a resort restaurant or will be eating in Disney Springs, I would aim to wear something less casual.
My 5 favorite cute, comfy & mom-friendly pieces are a combination of pricier splurge pieces from Lululemon, and some from Amazon that I’ve found that are cute, good quality, and you can’t beat the price.
These are my favorite “high-end” shorts. They come in several inseam options, lined & unlined, as well as 3 different rises.
These are a similar option on Amazon at a cheaper price point:
3. Lululemon Swifty Tech Racerback Tank:
My other favorite piece from Lululemon is this tank. I have it in several colors and it is light & comfy for the super hot days. Not extremely fitted, so it’s very breathable and versatile.
4. CRZ Yoga Seamless Workout Tank:
I also have this tank in a few colors. It comes with a shelf bra, so depending on your comfort level you don’t need an additional bra underneath. It is very similar to the Lululemon Ebb to Street tank without the price tag.
I have this dress and wore it a TON on our last Disney trip. It is fully lined, and super comfortable. The dress is slightly A-lined, so very flattering in my opinion. It does not have separate shorts, so something to keep in mind.
(I also have my eye on this dress or this one for our next upcoming trip as well.
We can’t forget accessories either, right?
I love these Minnie Ears because they’re cute, simple and also much cheaper than ones in the park. I also have a ‘splurge’ pair of Park Hopper ears from Etsy that are adorable, quality & supporting small business.
You definitely will need sunglasses, but I wouldn’t bring your favorite, most expensive pair that you would be desvatsted to lose, break or have fly off your face while riding Slinky Dog Dash. These Amazon sunglasses are super cute & come in a bunch of different colorways.
I always have a belt bag on me to keep valuables (phone, money, etc) so we aren’t leaving those things behind when we park our stroller to hit a ride. Lululemon ones are my favorite, linked here. I also have this Amazon dupe that also gets the job done.
For those in your ‘diaper bag era',’ less is more. We have 2 Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag backpacks, and this Ace Backpack is my favorite for the parks, because its much smaller and more compact, both to wear and to have on our stroller. But it still fits everything we need.
Whatever it is you’re packing for your trip, make sure you are bringing things that fit comfortably, make you feel good, and can help withstand the heat (literally)!
